Annual St Andrews Photography Festival to celebrate old and new

BID St Andrews is working with the University of St Andrews and local businesses to launch an annual photography festival in August which will celebrate the role and importance of St Andrews in the world of photography and engage with those who live, work in and visit the town.

BID St Andrews appoints BID Manager to “dream job”

BID St Andrews’ has appointed its BID Manager to what she describes as her “dream job.” BID St Andrews BID Manager Rhonda McCrimmon.

Rhonda McCrimmon (36) started her new role on Thursday and will be responsible to the BID St Andrews Board and levy-payers for both the day-to-day management of the BID as well as the smooth running of its strategic projects.

CruiseForth Seminar

The St Andrew Business Improvement District is teaming up with CruiseForth to unveil what it promises will be the first of many ‘business networking sessions’.

BID ST ANDREWS BOARD ELECTED

A new Board – the first to serve the newly formed BID St Andrews – has been elected at an open evening at the Old Course Hotel.

Businesses in St Andrews who will be contributing as levy payers to the new Business Improvement District from January voted in the 10 in an election overseen by representatives of Fife Council and independently chaired by Ross Martin, CEO of the Scottish Council for Development & Industry.

KEY BACKERS FOR BID

As the campaign for a Business Improvement District in St Andrews enters its final two weeks, “key businesses and organisations” have backed the initiative, forming what the organisers are calling “a unique partnership.”

BID St Andrews has hailed the backing of some of the town’s largest players as proof that the project will unify the town “as never before”.

The BID ballot clock is ticking!!

The St Andrews Business Improvement District (BID) ballot clock is ticking!
Every eligible voter in the BID area will have already received a letter from Fife Council informing them of the voting process – and they will soon be receiving their ballot papers and a copy of the BID St Andrews Business Plan.
The business plan is based on considerable feedback from consultations with businesses over the last 12 months – from face to face meetings, public events and an online survey. Thank you to EVERYONE who has contributed. The response has been fantastic.

BID HITS THE STREETS TO WIN SUPPORT

As the countdown to the BID St Andrews ballot gathers pace, a dozen ‘Street Champions’ are using shoe leather to win over businesses across the town.

For over a year, a group of passionate volunteers – the BID St Andrews steering group – have been beavering away at a number of initiatives they believe demonstrates that their business-led partnership is essential for the town’s future success.

“Ask Andrew” initiative seeks volunteers for The Open Championship

Twenty volunteers are being sought by BID St Andrews to undertake free training and become part of a large team of trained ambassadors for St Andrews during this year’s Open Championship.

The overall ambition is to have 120 “Ask Andrew” WorldHost qualified ambassadors, who will wear officially branded Open Championship tabards, and provide a warm and informative welcome in town and across the golf links.
